Sharon Tettenhorst
Sharon Tettenhorst received a BA in psychology and an MBA from the University of Missouri. She began her business career within the academic world in 1983 working as Assistant Director at the University of Missouri Center for Business Development. She then moved to D'Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles Advertising, St. Louis, MO where she rose to the position of Vice President, Director of Strategic Planning and Research over a twelve year career.
During her tenure at DMB&B, Sharon honed her clinical interviewing and analytic skills while moderating hundreds of focus groups across a wide range of consumer groups and product categories, and conducting countless executive brainstorming sessions. She also built her strong commitment to actionable results consistently helping clients put consumer insights to work in the form of new business opportunities and effective consumer communication. While Director of Strategic Planning, she led comprehensive brand initiatives for a broad range of clients from M&M/Mars, Coca-Cola and Procter and Gamble, to Anheuser-Busch, Blockbuster Entertainment, Southwestern Bell and Pillsbury.
Sharon founded the consulting partnership of Lucas-Tettenhorst, Inc. in 1997, and has worked since that time both domestically and internationally to leverage her unique blend of psychological training and intensive consumer communications experience. Her services are especially valued by clients who seek to build and extend their brands through an integrated process of brand positioning, product development and image/equity management.
Key clients who seek Sharon's services span a range of industry leaders Pacific Bell, Ameritech, Anheuser-Busch, Warner Lambert, Aetna Healthcare and M&M/Mars. Sharon also works extensively in partnership with the advertising industry with clients including Rodgers Townsend, DMB&B, Brado-Cuneo and Waylon.
Ms. Tettenhorst provides a full range of qualitative research services, facilitates creative ideation sessions, and is available as a consultant for projects on brand positioning and consumer communications strategy.
