J. Robert Harris
J. Robert Harris holds a degree in psychology from City University of New York, and has spent over 30 years applying his training to problems in research and marketing. He began his business career in the corporate sector holding research positions at the National Broadcasting Co. and the Equitable Life Assurance Company before moving on to become Group Research Manager with the General Foods Corporation, and later Associate Director of Research for the International Division of PepsiCo, Inc.
Since founding the research consultancy JRH Marketing Services in 1975, Mr. Harris has worked to help clients create marketing strategy across a range of industries including solutions for international and ethnic marketing. Key clients reflect the diversity of Mr. Harris' consultancy: 3M Corp, Anheuser-Busch, Inc., PepsiCo, Inc., Chase Manhattan Bank and Revlon, Inc.
Mr. Harris has been a thought leader and an active contributor to excellence in the research industry throughout his career. He lectures and conducts seminars on a range of marketing and research topics, and has been a speaker at various marketing conventions in the United States as well as in Europe, Mexico, Central and South America. He is a founding member and past president of the Qualitative Research Consultants Association, and a past Chairman of the Research Industry Coalition. Mr. Harris has been selected for inclusion in the Ebony Magazine's listing of "1000 Most Successful Blacks."
